Newberry Habitat for Humanity Seeking Accounting, Legal Expertise
2010 was a big year for Newberry Habitat for Humanity, which increased its home-building capacity and got its La Pine ReStore operation off to a great start. But now the organization is looking to get its support system up to speed, and could use some volunteer help in its accounting and legal processes. If you or someone you know might be interested in helping out, you’re invited to contact The Habitat office in the Sunriver Business Park, phone # 541-593-5005.
The folks at Newberry Habitat would like to thank the community for its great support in 2010, and looks forward to another big year in 2011.
Calling All Carpenters
It won’t be too long before a crew of volunteers goes to work on another house for Newberry Habitat for Humanity. In past years, a goodly percentage of this gang has been folks from Sunriver, and it’s hoped some of the crew from past years will be joined by more folks from the community.
You don’t have to be a skilled carpenter to join the team. There’s always a variety of work to be done, and the “old timers” are always happy to show new folks, ladies and gents alike, how the work gets done.
In 2011 Newberry Habitat will be finishing up a home begun last year, and starting at least one, and possibly two new ones. The homes are in the Terry Park subdivision in La Pine which will eventually house a dozen hard-working families, most of whom are getting their first opportunity to own a home of their own.
If you’d like to learn more about becoming part of the Newberry Habitat crew, contact the office at 541-593-5005.
